Asperger's Syndrome, also
referred to as Asperger's or
Asperger's Disorder, is a
developmental disorder with these
signs:
a lack of social skills
problems with social relationships
poor coordination and poor
concentration
a restricted range of interests, but
normal intelligence
A person with Asperger's does not
have a significant delay in language
development, but may have problems
understanding the subtleties used in
conversation, such as irony and
humor. Asperger's is sometimes
incorrectly referred to as
"high-functioning autism," because a
person with Asperger's has an
average to above average
intelligence.
