Toothache
The time-honored treatment for
toothache includes :
1. oral antibiotics are prescribed
by a professional healthcare
provider
2. pain killers, usually in the form
of anti-inflammatory/anti-pyretic
drugs are prescribed by a
professional healthcare provider
3. grandma remedies (they still
work!) such as warm salt water
rinses to the mouth or ice-packs on
the affected areas.
4. tooth extraction which is carried
out by a professional healthcare
provider
5. draining of an abscess, if
present by a professional healthcare
provider
6. root canal treatment which is a
surgical procedure that will remove
the damaged nerve and tissue but
will retain the tooth.
Prevention of a Toothache
These will constitute grandma
advises of having and following a
proper oral dental care hygiene,
brushing teeth at least twice a day,
or after meals. A regular dental
check-up, at least once a year. And
the most difficult part, avoidance
of an excessive intake of sugary and
starchy foods, esp. chocolates!!
